[Workshop] Raise the Stakes: Bring Genuine Emotion to Your Scenes with Miriam Lexie

Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 7:00 PM

Sea Tea Improv Studios
11 Asylum St, Suite 402, Hartford, CT

Do you find yourself "breaking" in the middle of scenes when you are in an emotional moment? Laughing when you meant to play a sincere character? Do you find your scenes sometimes getting stuck or falling flat? Do you have a hard time knowing how to react when your partner makes a bold emotional choice?

Adding strong and genuine emotions can make for more relatable and believable characters, and can ground your scene in a working reality.

Successfully heightening emotions can clarify and improve the relationships and raise the emotional stakes of the scene, providing more fodder for your hilarity to shine, and making your improv feel effortless.

In this workshop, we will practice exercises that focus on identifying and harnessing our own emotions, and building stronger relationships between characters that will drive your scene forward.

This is a great workshop if you want to raise the stakes, or simply to go back and practice some foundational acting skills.
