Hip Hop Improv Sampler
Only rhymey sometimey? Let’s dip our musical toes into some Hip Hop improv! In this workshop, we’ll learn simple approaches to flow and rhythm, build confidence in building rhymes, and get lots of reps freestyle rapping.
Instructor: Billy Soco
About the Instructor: Billy Soco is an NYC-based actor, improv teacher and voice artist of Chilean and Filipino descent. He teaches improv within the conservatory at The Second City. He also serves as artistic director for the Megawatt house team program at Magnet Theater where he teaches improv and musical improv.
He has trained at Magnet Theater, Upright Citizens Brigade, The Second City Conservatory, and Freestyle Love Supreme Academy. Performance credits include The Armando Diaz Experience, SaltPepperKetchup, North Coast, Baby Wants Candy, Shamilton, ComedySportz, Big Whoop, and Kittyhawk. He teaches and performs globally, like at the Vancouver Improv Festival (Canada), Out of Bounds Comedy Fest (Austin), Robin Hood International Improv Fest (UK), Teatro Lospleimovil (Chile) and Improv Utopia to name a few.
