Familiarity Breeds Content: Relationships & Environment
"Hey… don’t I know you?" Yes, from this very place! When characters already share history, their connections feel deeper, their choices feel richer, and their scenes become instantly more compelling. In this workshop, we’ll ditch the awkward getting-to-know-you phase and dive straight into authentic, dynamic relationships that bring scenes to life.
Through a mix of exercises and scene work, you’ll learn how to:
- Create rich character histories that fuel natural, engaging dynamics
- Ground your environment in meaningful details that shape behavior and relationships
- Tap into your own lived experiences to bring honesty, depth, and emotional stakes to every interaction
This workshop is perfect for improvisers looking to build scenes that feel real—ones that grab an audience and make them care. Whether you’re playing best friends, rivals, or exes, you’ll walk away with the tools to make every relationship pop.
Recommended for improvisers who have completed at least 4 levels of long-form improv.
