SEA TEA IMPROV JOINS THE GLOBAL MOVEMENT TO STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS
The comedy theater will present a benefit Production of Eve Ensler’s THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES, featuring women from through the Connecticut comedy community. Directed by Julia Pistell & Allie Rivera, the production will highlight the joy, pain, and experience of having a vagina.
If you've never seen the Vagina Monologues, this is a great way to see it for the first time: listen to the testimony of women across the world, performed by the women in your community. If you've seen the play many times, this production promises to carry the lively, electric energy of seasoned improvisers. The play will be presented traditionally (not improvised, sorry, improv superfans!), but please do stay after the production for an audience-inclusive discussion and performance of issues surrounding violence against women in the workplace.
Proceeds benefit Interval House. In their words, "we stand with abused women, men and children in their struggle for safety and justice and we strive to prevent and to break the cycle of abuse. We offer safety planning, options, support and connections to community resources to victims. We give them the tools to empower themselves." https://intervalhousect.org/

- “Spellbinding, funny, and almost unbearably moving . . . it is both a work of art and an incisive piece of cultural history, a poem and a polemic, a performance and a balm and a benediction." —Variety
