Our shortform improv show!

Similar to “Whose Line is it Anyway?”, we take tons of suggestions from the audience and use them (and a few audience volunteers here and there) in a variety of scenes, songs, and competitive games made up right on the spot!

Come see the show and have dinner, drinks & dessert while you watch — City Steam brews their own beers right on the premises.

This is our first and longest-running show — we’ve performed over 50 monthly shows at City Steam since 2009.

Our longform improv show!

We bring the big-city style improv of New York, Chicago, Boston & LA to life in Hartford!

We’ll take a single suggestion of a word, phrase, or title, get inspired by improvised stories from celebrity guests, or interview audience members to create a 25-40 minute improvised comedy with different scenes, themes & characters!

The showcase features Sea Tea Improv’s show AND other performances by invited groups & mixed improvisers from all over, for a big fun festival-style show!

In this newest addition to our monthly shows, we put on special one-time or experimental comedy shows that may not even be improv!

We’ve done improvised musicals, a special show for kids & families, a sketch comedy show with live music similar to SNL, a show where the improv groups swapped members, and a show with new one-off groups that were no bigger than 3 members each!

These shows are where we do something truly unique — don’t miss a once in a lifetime opportunity!

"Get a Clue" Live Action Murder Mystery Tour of The Mark Twain House
Someone has killed Pap Finn! Was it Tom Sawyer in the Library with the wrench? Could it be the Connecticut Yankee in the Billiard Room with the knife? Some think it could be The Pauper in the Kitchen with the rope. A parody inspired by the classic Parker Brothers/Hasbro game CLUE, a full-fledged murder mystery is yours to solve on The Mark Twain House & Museum’s new “Get a Clue” Tour!

Ever noticed that many of the rooms in The Mark Twain House are the same as the ones on the iconic 1949 British board game (originally known as CLUEDO)? The Hall, the Dining Room and other opulent rooms become possible murder scenes in this classic challenge of deductive reasoning and detective skill. The hilarious Sea Tea Improv comedy troupe becomes the suspects, all based on famous characters from the Mark Twain novels created in this very house. In one hour, participants will be able to make accusations and figure out who sent the wretched Pap Finn to his doom, where it happened and what was used to off the scoundrel. Solve the mystery, laugh a lot, and save the day!

March 22 and 23
7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Hour-long tours depart every twenty minutes and must be reserved in advance.
