Hanging with Harold - Weekly Drop-In Jam
Hanging with Harold is not a class or a workshop. It's not a show, either. It's a learn-by-doing drop-in jam where Sea Tea Improv and members of the improv community (that's you, just by showing up!) perform a kind of longform improv together known as the Harold.

Will you be among the first improvisers to reach 100 completed Harolds?

Improv 302 - The Set List - 8-week Improv Comedy Course with @gregludovici
Register via Eventbrite:
www.eventbrite.com/e/im.....event

Sundays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In “The Set List,” Sea Tea Improv will teach you how to play the games you know (and many you don’t) to the very best of your ability. Root out the games within the game, and play to the top of your intelligence no matter if you’re speaking in gibberish, mime, poorly translated Russian, or alphabetical order. We’ll apply advanced scenework techniques to simple games to find the perfect blend of short-form styles and practical theatrical concerns (is there conflict? How’s your stage presence looking?). Make bolder choices, do better scenes, and walk away with a greater understanding of how to have the most fun while using the best part of your brain. Lots of personal feedback in every class. Bring your own strengths and style to short-form games: that’s the goal.

[Master Class] Writing Sketches Through Improv with Kevin McDonald of The Kids in the Hall
Register via Eventbrite:
www.eventbrite.com/e/ma.....event

Learn The Kids in the Hall method of writing sketches through improv from Kevin McDonald!

Sea Tea Improv is proud to bring sketch comedy legend Kevin McDonald to Hartford for a master class and a show!

This master class starts with the basics of sketch comedy and comedy writing, to games that lead to thinking naturally about writing & performing at the same time. Groups of students begin to improvise and Kevin's notes on those improvised scenes will lead to figuring out how the scenes could develop into fully developed comedy sketches.

By the end of the day, Kevin and the students in this class will have written 4 to 5 completely new comedy sketches.

An important note from Kevin: "I will probably also bore the students with Kids in the Hall anecdotes throughout the day. Sorry about that."

Students will put up and perform the sketches developed during this class as part of a show with Kevin McDonald later that night!

The master class runs from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm with a one-hour break for lunch. The big show will begin later that night at 7:30 pm, and will feature stand-up comedy by Kevin McDonald, the sketches from the class, and improv by Sea Tea Improv with Kevin McDonald.

This is a full day of comedy writing, improvising, and performing with Kevin McDonald!

Kevin McDonald is a founding member of the legendary Canadian sketch comedy group, The Kids in the Hall. He's been nominated for three Emmys for his comedy writing. His movie credits include Lilo & Stitch and Galaxy Quest. He's appeared on MADtv, Friends, That 70's Show, Seinfeld, and Arrested Development.

Don't miss this chance to learn from one of the best, right here in Hartford!
