Instructor: Laura Manasewich is an improviser living in Connecticut. She has performed with Sea Tea all over the northeast and beyond. She's also had incredible opportunities to perform in unique longform styles such as Improvised 80's Movie, Campfire, and Spoken. She is a former member of the longform troupe Moebius. Laura has trained at Hartford Stage and UCB, where she is in the Advanced Study Improv program. She's also studied with Improv Boston, Second City and Gotham Writers Workshop. She has dipped her toes into the waters of sketch comedy and was lucky enough to perform in shows for Hartford's Asylum Attic and Knuckle Sandwich's Disney Reality Show. She was also a contributing sketch writer for Sea Tea Improv sketch comedy shows including Jurassic Park: The Lost Jokes. Laura hosts the monthly CT Improv Mixer along with her trusty DJ Flawless Walrus. She also hosts the recurring Sea Tea Improv & Friends Stand Up Spectacular. Laura is an instructor for Sea Tea Improv. She's taught numerous classes, and some of her students even come back to take more! Teaching is one of Laura's proudest accomplishments in Sea Tea.

Sea Tea Improv presents TITANIC: THE UNSINKABLE SHOW! Original Sketch Comedy inspired by the film Titanic - Night 1 of 2
This show will not sink! We know, we know, you’ve heard THAT one before, but this time we mean it.

For one weekend only, February 12-13, revisit the magic of Jack and Rose, and maybe figure out what Fabrizio was doing that whole time before, well, YOU KNOW. (SPOILER ALERT: the boat sinks).

You’ve seen the movie, maybe it made it you laugh, cry, cringe or all three. Now see our spin on it. In this original sketch show, our hearts will go on as writers and actors from Sea Tea Improv & the CT Improv community bring to life scenes that were perhaps just outside of James Cameron’s original scope for the movie. If you’re one of those “I’ve never seen Titanic” types, then take our word for it, this is exactly how things went down.

Come aboard!!!

HartBeat Ensemble’s Carriage House Theater
360 Farmington Avenue
Hartford, CT

If you can’t win tickets in a lucky game of poker, you can buy them for $10:

[Workshop] You're Great at Improv! Improv for the Shy
So you've taken a class or two. Maybe you feel very scared every time you start a scene. Maybe you always get talked over, or you feel like all of your ideas are terrible, or you're always playing low-status characters.

This is a confidence-building workshop: in a room with only shy and quiet improvisers, we'll work on techniques to playing higher-status characters, trusting yourself, and bringing in your own expertise. Great for improvisers who are coming out of intro, or are finding themselves pigeon-holed as "the quiet one."

$35
