Summer vacation is coming up, do you know who you’ll be for those three months? Yeah, not where you’ll be, but who? Sea Tea Improv is offering a week-long camp for teens focusing on character creation! You can be anyone you want to be if you just create it! Each day campers will spend time playing different improv exercises and games, focusing on building big fun characters and of course having a great time with their peers. No experience necessary.

Campers will be instructed by members of Sea Tea Improv, who have been trained by some of the best schools in the region, including Improv Boston and the Upright Citizens Brigade (NYC). The session will run from July 7-11 and will culminate with a class show at the end of the week for friends and family. The camp will be run from Sea Tea Improv Studio at 75 Pratt Street, Rm 500, Hartford, CT 06103. We are located just a block away from Hartford Stage and down the street from the XL Center.

Class dates:
Monday, July 7
Tuesday, July 8
Wednesday, July 9
Thursday, July 10
Friday, July 11

Prerequisites: None!

About the Instructors:
Summar Elguindy is a founding member of Sea Tea Improv and has performed throughout New England. She holds both a B.A. in Theatre and in Psychology from Eckerd College in Florida. Summar has trained with the Upright Citizens Brigade in NYC, People’s Improv Theatre in NYC, Hartford Stage in CT and Improv Boston in MA. She is currently completing her Masters in Theatre Education at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. As a Teaching Artist, Summar has taught at the Hartford Stage Company, Hartford Children’s Theatre, Oddfellows and the American Stage Company. As a performer she has been featured on Better Connecticut and Mass Appeal. Summar is a dedicated director, stage manager and costume designer and has worked on many shows including Beauty and the Beast, Breakdancing Shakespeare, Geppetto and Son, and The Witches.

Daniel Davidson is one of the newer members of Sea Tea Improv and brings with him a wealth of national improv experience. He first began studying improv with BATS Improv (Bay Area Theatersports) in San Francisco in 2008 with the modest goal of meeting people in a new city. He became hooked on improv and after completing their program, studied privately with BATS teacher Dave Dennison, focusing on scenic, theatrical improv. One of the highlights of Daniel’s tenure in San Francisco was restoring law and order by solving an improvised murder mystery. Daniel studied sitcom and sketch writing at both the Second City Hollywood and iO West theaters in Los Angeles and graduated from the Second City Conservatory in 2012. While he has been accused of being a serious and analytical improviser, Daniel believes the most important improv rules to adhere to are: listen to your partners, let your guard down, and have way more fun than you can in the real world.
